Toa Payoh rooftop graffiti accomplice pleads guilty to theft and trespassing

Just a day before Christmas, one of the youths allegedly involved in the anarchic graffiti that smeared the rooftop of 85A Toa Payoh Lorong 4 has pleaded guilty to theft and criminal trespass.

18-year-old David William Graaskov pleaded guilty to three of the six charges he was facing, Channel NewsAsia reports.

The teenager admitted to looting four cans  of spray paint from a lorry along with the other four vandals involved, which they used to deface the rooftop of Block 85A at Toa Payoh with “Fuck the PAP” and “Wake up SG” plastered prominently for all to see.

However, Graaskov maintained that he was not there when the spray painting took place — he thought it was getting a wee bit late and decided to catch the late bus home instead. His four other accomplices proceeded to do the deed, and a pretty bad job at it too.

The teen also pleaded guilty to trespassing at the rooftop area of Marina Bay Suites in March and a construction site at Jalan Rajah last year.

If convicted for theft, he could face imprisonment of up to three years and a fine, while trespassing will add another three months in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,500. The other four vandals are due to appear in court next month.
