Time Out KL disses Singapore’s idea of ‘street food’, comments are priceless

Time Out KL‘s story 35 reasons why we love KL uploaded on their website on March 3 and posted on Facebook a day later is drawing all sorts of feedback, natch.

Malaysia and Singapore have long been arguing about each other’s food scene, but a meme-style photo (see above) that accompanies no. 26 on the high-traffic ‘listicle’ — “Because unlike our southern neighbour’s, our street food is actually on the streets” — is drawing fresh attention.

We happen to think they’re right, but who cares what we think? Keyboard warriors have all the say:

“That one is hawker centre lah kambing. we have street food too here in singapore.”

“And our street shops are more hygienic, Not coakroaches having a nap in kway teow.”

“I live in jb.. And am supprised by the amount of singaporeans on here criticising malaysian food.. Is that why our roads, shops etc are filled with u guys? .. Or are cockroaches just too delicious to resist?”
