Three individuals involved in the slashing incident in Orchard Cineleisure earlier this year were convicted on Nov. 25.
According to Channel NewsAsia, 21-year-old Muhammad Nazmir Osman, 20-year-old Muhammad Fahmi Razali and 19-year-old Muhammad Hasnul Redha Abdullah were given imprisonment of two years six months, three years six months and three years respectively.
The three men will receive four to six strokes of the cane each.
Muhammad Farin Zulkeple and Muhammad Ridzuan Said, two others who were part of the unlawful assembly, have also confessed and will be sent for reformative training.
The incident that occurred on June 15 involved a total of 10 individuals, one of whom — a National Serviceman — ended up severely injured after being slashed by a machete.
