Thorb unhappy over sale of cheap replica club jerseys at LionsXII game

Local sportswear brand Thorb has aired their discontent over the sale of cheap replica club jerseys at a LionsXII game, on their Facebook page.

A booth selling S.League merchandise was set up at Bishan Stadium on Jan. 21 during the FA Cup clash between the LionsXII and DRB-Hicom FC.  The items on sale included club replica jerseys going for $10 a piece.

Thorb, which recently ended a three-year deal with Tanjong Pagar United F.C., claimed they weren’t aware their brand was put on cheap sale until notified by one of their fans.

In the post, they said, “Many will say this is just business. But to us, Thorb represents a spirit, an endeavour that many of us have been deeply passionate about over years.”

This is the first time the Football Association of Singapore (FAS[HS2] ), which is in charge of both the S.League and the LionsXII’s Malaysia Super League and Cup campaigns, has directly sold S.League club jerseys at a LionsXII game.

Thorb managing director and chief executive officer Kristian Thorbjornsen told Goal, “We are disappointed but can’t do anything about it.”
