Just as we reported on Aug 3, stage two of the Downtown Line will be in operation by December.
The exact date is on Dec 27.
The 12 stations that will open are Bukit Panjang, Cashew, Hillview, Beauty World, King Albert Park, Sixth Avenue, Tan Kah Kee, Botanic Gardens, Stevens, Newton, Little India and Rochor.
That covers 16.6 kilometres from Bukit Panjang to Rochor and includes three interchange stations.
Commuters will get to enjoy free rides on the entire Downtown Line for a limited time period after the opening, according to Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew, as reported on Channel NewsAsia.
