When Grab announced its official takeover of Uber’s Southeast Asian operations, most people weren’t too happy about the ride-hailing platform monopolizing the industry. However, a couple days later, local carpooling app Ryde revealed itself to be a new challenger, with its soon-to-be-launched private-hire car service in Singapore.
But amidst the chatter, one individual is speaking out for pet owners in the country who may be concerned that uberPET will not survive the transition over to Grab. Kicking off a petition that has since garnered more than 490 signatures on Change.org, Joe Havely aims to grab the attention of Grab, which so far has given no indication that it will incorporate the pet-friendly ride option on its platform when Uber ceases to exist in the region.
A quick scroll through Grab’s Facebook page showed fellow pet owners voicing their worries about the popular service (among other things).

However, Grab has yet to confirm anything in regards to uberPET.
