A vandal who thought he was being stealthy while keying a car got busted by cameras that caught his every move.
A man used keys to scratch the side of a white car in broad daylight in footage that the SG Road Vigilante page said was a Tesla Model 3 and happened at around 4:30pm yesterday in the carpark of Blk 378 Clementi Avenue 5.
The high-end electric car’s surveillance cameras, built to catch mischief all around the car, caught the man in blue stopping in his tracks after spotting the car. He then takes out his keys, approaches the car and keys the side, before walking off without turning back.
Its damage was paint scratch marks just below the handle of the door.
Users felt the disrespect labeling the act as “disgusting” and “sick.” Most were clueless as to why he would so such a thing.
“Really bastard and nothing else better to do,” Dax Tan wrote.
“This fool gonna pay a heavy price for playing stupid games,” Daniel Lee wrote.
One thought this was an advertisement for the electric car brand’s nifty security system.
“I thought it was an advertisement to showcase Tesla camera features. Because the way that guy scratched, I would expect to see a long continuous fairly straight line instead of a 60 degree slanted line. Anyway Tesla cameras are fantastic!” Ocean Larry wrote.
