The young man nationally known as Bumblebee (or alternatively, Blueberry Cheesecake) is absolutely basking in all the infamy his little stunt at Temasek Polytechnic last week produced.
Aaron Lim, 21, shot to nationwide fame following a very long and highly absurd tirade that disrupted a lecture at the polytechnic — an incident that sparked from allegedly derogatory comments from his peers about his prior educational background in the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
Nobody expected Lim to go off the rails and embark on a half an hour rant that involved confronting teachers and students, reciting the lyrics to Kendrick Lamar’s Humble, and taking off his now-iconic striped tee.
Roasting his own mother
Following the incident (and the subsequent snowballing of his notoriety), he made multiple Instagram stories that saw him chiding his haters and, er, roasting his own mother, who apparently works as a cleaner.
As entertaining as his Temasek Polytechnic stunt was, him being abusive to his mother produced a bigger online uproar. Since the backlash, he has since made a public apology on an Instagram live feed, giving a frail excuse to Lianhe Wanbao that he uploaded the clip because he’s a “content creator” who wants to make money.
“I hope to use this chance to apologize to everyone, including my mother,” Lim said. “No matter what industry she is in, I should not have insulted her this way.”
After that incident, Lim made his Instagram account private.
Bumblebee vs Influencers
But the fun never stops. Committed to his role as a heel, he continued his rants about everything and nothing on Instagram Live. Dude seriously looked deranged as hell, challenging all the people who called him out online, including Ah Boys To Men actor and social media influencer Noah Yap.
He then reminded his viewers that he already made the apology for roasting his mother, and threatened to kill haters by “roast(ing) them to fucking death”.
Then he got Yap himself to to conference with him in a live video stream, and what followed was as ridiculous as you’d think it’d be. Highlights included Bumblebee calling himself “the greatest thing (Temasek Polytechnic) has ever seen” and digging in the fact that Yap bites tables (a reference to a scene from Ah Boys To Men 2).
But the main attraction was that Lim boasted about roasting Yap while the latter was genuinely confused about the irreverent “roasting”.
Tired of talking to a blond brick wall, Yap passed the baton on to fellow social media influencer Dee Kosh. Highlights from the conversation include Lim proclaiming that he was proud of his “Bumblebee” moniker and Lim failing to convince an incredulous Dee Kosh that they were both the same.
Also, Lim kept blowing Dee Kosh up to the point that the latter told the blond character to “get off (his) dick”.
There’s also the one where Bumblebee took on local YouTuber PoPo, who trolled the former hard. Let’s just say it got pretty childish.
Bumblebee being racist
Despite (tirelessly) claiming to be a champion for ITE students, Lim seems more than willing to put down Malays and Indians.
Eh, perhaps its better if we stop providing fuel for Bumblebee’s notoriety — being relevant is exactly what the unhinged dude wants right now.
