Ah, remember the good old days when we were teenagers, getting famous by recording ourselves doing something pointless and illegal, then voluntarily sharing said recording on the internet for the whole world to see — including the police? Well, it wasn’t quite that easy to get internet famous when we were kids, but we certainly did some equally stupid things.
Cue this kid: A carefree member of the most educated generation in history and proud owner of a smartphone, using all those resources to show off his understanding of gravity. By throwing somebody else’s property off a bridge just to see it splash and sink in the water.
Bravo.
The Instagram videos of the tall, lanky young man tossing an ofo bicycle over the railing of a bridge into a river went viral over the past couple of days after being reposted by Sure Boh Singapore and Thelocalsociety on Facebook. Thanks, guys, ‘cause this young ruffian really needed the encouragement.
And apparently, this was so exciting that he did it again, on the exact same bridge. Well, at least it looks like the same guy in a different outfit. Only this time he tossed an oBike instead of an ofo.
Netizens deduced from the videos that the scene of the crime was likely Punggol’s Lorong Halus pedestrian bridge.
But police got a big break in the case Wednesday, announcing that 16-year-old boy began assisting them with investigations into the Punggol bike sinker, according to Channel NewsAsia.
While we don’t know the identity of the teenage boy assisting police, we remind you that we also don’t know the identity of the bike tosser(s) in either of the two viral videos. All we’re saying is that we’ve never seen them both in the same place at the same time.
