Teen who was using mobile phone while crossing road gets knocked down by bus

In a case that could only happen in this day and age, a 17-year-old got hit by a bus while crossing the road — because his eyes were glued to his mobile phone. But of course.

Shin Min Daily News reports that the teen was hit at the junction of Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3 around 4.20pm last Friday, and even tried to get up after the accident.

The SMRT bus driver, as well as passing motorists, were seen helping the teen, telling him not to move and stay in his position.

An ambulance later arrived and conveyed the semi-conscious millennial to the National University Hospital, where he was treated for head injuries.

SMRT are in touch with the pedestrian and his family to assist them in the case — investigations are still ongoing. It is unclear if he managed to take a selfie while in the ambulance.
