The Yishun teen, Sylesnar Seah Jie Kai, 19, who was accused of murdering his dad has completed his three-week psychiatric remand and will be able to meet his lawyers.

Seah appeared via video in court on Wednesday, Nov. 23 where the prosecution requested for a longer adjournment of the case as there were other reports outstanding.

District Judge Terence Tay said in the session that since his remand at the Institute of Mental Health has ended, Seah is entitled to visits, unless the prisons are unable to accommodate it.

Seah was charged on Oct. 11 with the murder of his dad, 47-year-old Eddie Seah Wee Teck, who was found dead in a stairwell of Block 653, Yishun Avenue 4 on Oct. 10.

Neither the cause of death nor possible motive for the killing has been disclosed.

The case has been adjourned to Jan 31, 2023.

If found guilty of murder, Seah could be sentenced to death.
