Digital media startup Tech in Asia announced today—following its new round of funding from Fenox VC—that it has acquired SGEntrepreneurs, also known as SGE.io after a rebranding exercise in November last year, for an undisclosed sum.
Until recently, the top Singapore tech blog founded in 2005 by Gwendolyn Regina Tan, Bernard Leong and Lai Wei Chang, had obtained revenue mainly from advertising. Its new research arm SGE Insights churns out in-depth research reports on the technology industry in Asia, successfully differentiating SGEntrepreneurs from other tech blogs, most of whom are not equipped with such expert analysis.
Tan and SGEntrepreneurs editor Terence Lee will follow their massive story archive to Tech in Asia.
