Living in Singapore means you’ve got access to any kind of information, whatever you need, mostly online. But what do you do when you don’t know what you need or want to see? You come to Coconuts for #take5Singapore, that’s what you do. The theme changes all the time, but it’ll always be something you’ll be glad you watched. It can come anytime of the week — on Sunday nights when you’re dreading the morning general meeting or even after work on Fridays when everyone’s heading out and you’re stuck inside calculating balance sheets — so check in often. Every 30 minutes or so is recommended.
Here’s the first: 5 things from the internet that will make you go “f yeah!”.
1. Shots of Awe: Layers of Truth

This Jason Silva is an insanely talented speaker. We knew this only from that one video that went viral within our Singapore Facebook community, but a bit of of YouTube stalking confirmed it. In fact, we dug out more stuff about him; that he’s a filmmaker, NatGeo host and — duh — TED regular all rolled into one. Layers of Truth from his Shots of Awe series does in two minutes (like the rest of the vids from here) what most self-help books can’t achieve in two months — it forces you to get your mind out of your office cubicle or wherever you’re hunched over right now and… into space. Like, right now. F YEAH!
2. World’s first 24-hour music video, Pharrell William’s “Happy”

Considering you don’t watch it all in one day, everytime you play this music video by the newly-married Pharrell you’re going to be watching a different scene. See if you can spot Magic Johnson and Jimmy Kimmel, or else just “clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth”. This one’s a four-hour (gad!) excerpt, but you can see the whole thing in its original big and beautiful glory on 24hoursofhappy.com. F YEAH MINIONS!
3. You know how you’re always supposed to wanna be younger? Well, screw that

Women of all ages (though maybe not all nationalities, but who cares?) chip in for this video collage by Prevention Magazine with the things they love the most about being their age. You’ll be tempted to say “f yeah!” after every woman completes her spiel, but try to hold yourself till you get to the four-year-olds at least, because there are A LOT of women in this video.
4. Sheikh Haikel and Sezairi Sezali prank MDC singers

The only homemade offering in this week’s #Take5Singapore is this video of two local artists pranking singers from the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company at their own anniversary show. “Balls in your throat” help you sing better? F YEAH!
5. Pick of the Week: Seth Rogen and James Franco’s parody of Kanye West’s “Bound 2”

A lot went down in Kanye West’s music video for “Bound 2”, which you should’ve known by now, features his fiance Kim Kardashian in her shapeliest form. But the version that makes us want to say “f yeah” more is this one by Hollywood actors Seth Rogen and James Franco, which is no tits on toast, but is still NSFW.
