#SupportSGBloggers is a worthy initiative, but the video kills it

The Influencer Network wants you to start appreciating bloggers again.

The local PR agency has just launched an an online initiative called #SupportSGBloggers to combat the rising animosity towards bloggers and what they do, in light of recent controversy.

In a press release, they’ve described the job of a blogger as “a difficult and thankless one”, which requires writers to sacrifice “time, effort, passion and determination”.

To drive the point home, bloggers like Hong Peng and Wee Heng star in a 1:34 video talking about the reasons they blog and some of the blogging ethics they live by, amongst other things.

The campaign — which aims to collect 1,000 signatures in support of Singapore bloggers via the Causes page, by Jan. 31, 2014 — is commendable, but the video doesn’t quite do it for us.

Let us know what you think in the comments!
