Imagine stumbling across a huge 2m-long python in the wee hours of the morning. If that’s not enough to scare you awake, we don’t know what is.
That was the slithery sight that disturbed several students living in a Nanyang Technological University (NTU) dormitory on Wednesday (Oct 12).
Campus security got a call around 2.45am from a Hall 15 guard about the snake, and they enlisted the help of a pest control service. The intruder was nabbed and removed at 3am, and fortunately, no one was hurt.
Apparently, this is the first wild animal sighting at the dormitory (which is next to a forested area), said the students who spotted the python. But it’s not the first reptile seen on campus – incidents involving pangolins, wild boars and even two snakes engaged in battle have occurred at the Boon Lay university.
