Student gets leg stuck between train and platform at Hougang MRT, train delays across NEL

Another train service disruption took place this morning (what’s new?), but this time it wasn’t due to signal or track faults — someone got her leg stuck between the train and platform at Hougang MRT station.

According to social media chatter, a teenage student in a beige uniform was seen lying down on the platform of the train station as staff worked on dislodging her left leg from the small gap between the train and platform.

Witnesses speaking to Channel NewsAsia remarked that the teenage girl did not appear to be seriously injured, though she was conveyed to a nearby hospital by an ambulance.

The incident, said to have occurred around 7.50am, caused a delay in train services along the North-East Line.

Reportedly, no announcement was made about the train delays across the train stations. The crowds at the station cleared by 9.30am.
