In an act of pure mischief and cruelty, a stray cat had its face stained with green and red marker. As if that wasn’t ghastly enough, the cat was also found with marker stains on its hind area — meaning the perpetrator (or perpetrators) took the effort to besmirch the cat’s butthole too.

According to Facebook user Firdaus Zulkifli, the abused cat was found at 9005 Tampines Industrial Park A, sporting marker stains that were clearly drawn on its fur with cruel intention. Netizens tried to guess what the vandalism was supposed to represent (it really doesn’t matter though — abuse is abuse).

Attempts were made to remove the marker ink from the cat’s face, but the stains — presumably oil-based — proved difficult to remove. Which makes it especially worrying, since the cat would be licking its mouth and get a dose of potentially toxic chemicals.

“The cat was so well-behaved and sweet but yet, there is someone here who took advantage of this cat’s soft character,” wrote Firdaus, upset at the “unacceptable” act.

Firdaus was also heartened by all the heartening response to his post by concerned netizens; some of whom will be looking for the cat to take good care of it.
