The absence of the haze is a pleasant change from the usual latter-year climate, but there might be even more awesome news for haters of the local heat.
The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) expects the second fortnight of September to have higher rainfall compared to the first half of the already cold-ish month. Folks should expect thunderstorms on five to seven days in the late morning and early afternoon — caused by strong solar heating of the land.
Nights will be even cooler with the daily minimum temperature forecasted to range between 22°C and 24°C — i.e. the optimum conditions for a snuggle in bed. MSS adds that the total rainfall for the month will be above normal, and that prevailing southwest monsoon conditions are forecast to persist for the rest of September.
Meanwhile, the National Environment Agency’s latest update assures that the likelihood of Singapore being affected by transboundary haze remains low. No significant smoke plume or haze has been observed, and prevailing winds are forecast to continue blowing with showers expected over some parts of Sumatra.
