Start planning now: Singapore will have 7 long weekends in 2020

Yeah, it’s only April, but here’s something to look forward to in 2020. While Singaporeans are getting 5 long weekends this year, according to a statement today from the Ministry of Manpower announcing next year’s public holidays, that number will rise to seven in 2020.

These are the seven holidays that will take place on Friday or Monday (holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday are given a public holiday the following Monday).

  • Chinese New Year (Sun, Jan 26)
  • Good Friday (April 10)
  • Labour Day (Fri, May 1)
  • Hari Raya Puasa (Sun, May 24)
  • Hari Raya Haji (Fri, July 31)
  • National Day (Sun, Aug 9), and
  • Christmas Day (Fri, Dec 25)
