Standard Chartered bank’s Holland Village branch closed after robbery; investigations ongoing

Police have confirmed that a robbery took place at the Holland Village branch of Standard Chartered bank on Thursday (July 7) morning, around 11.25am. The place was cordoned off and the bank closed to the public, with police officers in bulletproof vests searching the area for the suspect, who is believed to be a Caucasian male wearing a cap. It is unclear how much the culprit took.

According to eyewitnesses, at least 10 police cars were seen outside the bank after the robbery, around lunch time. At 3pm, the officers extended the barriers to the nearby HSBC bank branch and the Park @ Holland Village cafe.

Investigations are ongoing.
