Students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) want you to give your friends and loved ones your undivided attention this festive season, by putting your phone face down on the table during gatherings.
The Put It on Friend Mode campaign is triggered by the group of four’s personal and third-person encounters with people who are always glued to their phones, and the fact that such behaviour can do the opposite of nurturing friendships and relationships.
The call-to-action isn’t insanely effective — you can easily forget you’ve signed the pledge when you finally sit down to Christmas dinner — but the website is so cool you’ll want to spread the word.
The more you tell, the higher your chances of remembering what you’ve promised to do.
