Following an investigation into a netizen’s posted screenshots of an exchange with a ticket scalper, Singapore Sports Hub found no evidence of any allegedly looted Ed Sheeran concert tickets carried out by its staff.
On Saturday, a lady shared on Facebook a concerning conversation she had with a Carousell user, who’d offered Category 1 concert tickets at $550 each — way more than the usual price of $248. The posted screenshot of their exchange had the brazen scalper claiming that his friend at “sporthub management” looted 100 tickets for Sheeran’s Nov 11 show, and 120 tickets for the Nov 12 gig.

Following an uproar by miffed Sheeran fans who weren’t able to get their hands on tickets, Sports Hub looked into the claims — but they were found to have no basis whatsoever, according to a report by The Straits Times.
“There were no suspicious transactions and tickets were purchased within the respective transaction limits,” said Sports Hub’s senior director for corporate communications and stakeholder management, Chin Sau Ho.
He added that Sports Hub had “confidence in the integrity of staff and systems” — plus the fact that bulk-buying by in-house staff is not allowed.
Again, they reminded fans not to buy resold tickets from flippers, as these can be seized or voided without refund or other compensation.
Meanwhile, on ticket reselling platform Viagogo, scalpers are asking for up to $2,700 each for desperate fans to catch the English singer-songwriter play at the Singapore Indoor Stadium this November.
