Whether it looks like a red light district or a set straight out of The Shining, the red HDB block in Tampines North caused quite a stir recently

Many were divided about how they felt about the aesthetics – and it even warranted the Housing Development Board (HDB) to make an official statement to “tone it down”

Singapore photographer Jayden Tan, who goes as Jaydenation on social media, shared on TikTok a behind-the-scenes video of a fun film photoshoot at the very blocks.

@jdenation A super spontaneous night out with #cinestill400d featuring @Glenn Goh & @rui 😎😎 Thanks @terryterribleee for the BTS 😘 #640B #tampinesgreenvines ♬ original sound – Cam Kirk Studios

The outcome? Pretty darn good.

Jayden said in his post that it was “a super spontaneous night out” with two others who were the subjects of the photoshoot.

To achieve the cinematic vibes in the photos, Jayden used the CineStill 400D film which is said to produce pictures with a “soft color palette with natural saturated color and rich, warm skin tones”.

His pictures were good enough to see some supportive comments – finally! – about his choice of venue for the shoot.

Does this shoot make you see the red blocks in a new, more favorable light?
