Is this the makings of a horror flick? For sure — you’d feel goosebumps too if you were traveling on the expressway behind a motorcycle that wandered off on its own without anyone on it.
The rider-less motorbike was filmed on dash cam wobbling forward all by itself along the entrance into the Central Expressway (CTE) from Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 last Thursday night. Funnily enough, the bike was even signaling its intentions to filter into the expressway — which it very well could have if not for the two-wheeler losing momentum and zig-zagged into the bushes by the side of the road. The folks in the car could only express bewilderment at the eerie scene unfolding in front of them. “I don’t know what the hell is going on,” offered a voice offscreen.
Just a collision
Turns out, it’s neither a ghost rider nor a trial for self-driving motorbikes. A Facebook user by the name of Chuen Chern stepped forward to claim ownership of the bike, stating that he was flung off his ride after getting into an accident with a car earlier on.
According to him, he collided with a Grab driver along the Seletar Expressway that night, and his motorbike could have continued moving forward from the force of impact. The man is now on the lookout for anyone with dash cam footage of the crash itself, which will definitely explain how the bike wandered on by itself.
