Specially sourced from private collections in Singapore and Malaysia to showcase Javier’s movements as an artist since year 2000, the show titled “Fictions” will feature collages, paintings, photographs and installations.
Javier’s works are known to reflect the darkness of the human soul, drawing inspiration from film and photography, as well as religion.
To kick off the exhibition, a gala charity dinner will be held tonight, Sept. 27, at the show venue. Proceeds from ticket and exhibition catalogue sales will go to Gawad Kalinga, a poverty-eradication charity that runs projects in Southeast Asian developing countries such as the Philippines. Javier has also donated an artwork to be auctioned off, set to be an event highlight.
Geraldine Javier: Fictions opens Sept. 28 and runs through Oct. 5, 10am— 5pm, at Artspace@Helutrans.
