“Fur is for animals”, proclaimed SPCA Singapore in its Facebook plea to stop people from buying rabbit bag chains. Apparently, these popular soft and furry products are found in small shops and push carts across Singapore, and most people have no clue that what they’re buying is made out of real rabbit fur.
According to SPCA, “fur is often obtained with much animal suffering and in Singapore, there is simply no excuse to wear fur, even as an accessory.”
Upon conducting its own in-house tests of real and synthetic fur, SPCA concluded that the fur from rabbit bag chains was, unfortunately, real.
