SPCA takes away dog from abusive man who used leash to lift it by its neck

Well this guy certainly reserved himself a cosy spot in hell.

Last weekend, thousands of folks cringed in horror as a video emerged online depicting a man choking a adorable Japanese spitz by lifting it up by its leash. You’d think such barbarism took place in another country but nope, it took place right here in sunny Singapore. The footage is here below, courtesy of The Straits Times — but we gotta tell you, it’s highly distressing to watch.

SPCA Singapore acted accordingly as they should. They’ve since assured the public that the dog has been removed from the man’s home with the help of the police. Fortunately, a veterinary checkup revealed that it did not appear to suffer any noticeable physical injuries.

“The case has been referred to the AVA and we are currently working with them to put together a case against the owner,” the animal welfare organization noted in their Facebook post.

With the new Animal and Birds Act in place, anyone found guilty of cruelty to animals can be imprisoned for up to 18 months and/or fined up to $15,000 — which we hope the dog-abusing man will experience first hand. Now, if only something more serious was done to investigate the elusive serial cat killer in Yishun
