As all this talk about celebrating uniquely Singaporean things comes to an apex in the days leading up to National Day, here’s one more icon to commemorate.

We’re talking, of course, about Haw Par Villa — the theme park that ruined the days of many a Singaporean toddler who was exposed to statues and dioramas depicting the Ten Courts of Hell, among other Chinese folklore. After laying dormant and disused for several years, the theme park recently got a new lease of life, thanks to the Singapore Tourism Board and the enthusiasm of hipsters who dig the kitschy, grotesque surroundings of the country’s oldest theme park. Even experimental/synthpop artist Grimes featured it in her music video.

Anyway, here’s one more way to commemorate the Singaporean icon — a Haw Par Horrors sticker set for messaging app Telegram. A netizen by the name of Berny Tan went ahead and “spent way too much of (her) Sunday” to craft a sticker set made out of the horrifying statues of Haw Par Villa. Although, when you think about it, utilizing the frozen expressions of beings that seem to have “crawled out from the depths of hell” really are the best way to get your message across. Thank the lady for the bounteous sticker set and download it here.
