Someone got arrested for scrawling a Chinese character on a wall in the State Courts

How did this dude expect to get away with it? After vandalising a room at the pre-trial conference centre in the State Courts, he returned to the scene of the crime and promptly got himself arrested.

With unknown motives, a 52-year-old entered the empty room during lunch hours and used a red marker to scrawl Chinese characters on a wall, TODAY reported. He left the State Courts but returned later, identified using surveillance camera footage.

Police were alerted to the foolish crime on Wednesday afternoon, where they established a case of vandalism. If convicted, the man will be liable to a maximum fine of $2,000 or a three-year jail term.
