Some people queued up to 10 hours for free cable car ride

One of SG50’s biggest hits was…the free rides on the Singapore Cable Car, with people waiting for as long as 10 hours for their turn.

The free rides on both Mt Faber and Sentosa lines were offered exclusively to Singaporeans and permanent residents from 10am to 8pm — but by 1:15pm the operators advised on Facebook that it had already reached the cut-off.

Apparently, the queue for the free rides had started as early as 7pm.

There was also a separate queue for paying customers, reports Channel NewsAsia, which could have added to the long wait.

A Cable Car Sky Pass on Mount Faber Line (which ferries passengers from Faber Peak to Sentosa Island) and Sentosa Line (which travels exclusively around Sentosa) costs between $12 (children) and $19 (adult).
