Singaporeans can be an impatient bunch, yet some of us are totally cool with queueing for something deemed the Trend of the Moment. Most people tend to be glued to their phones during the wait, though. But not this cabbie.
In a video that’s been making the rounds online this morning, one female driver in a taxi line was spotted outside her vehicle walking around with a pair of chopsticks and a plastic bag in hand. Instead of whiling the time away, she was proactively picking up bits and bobs of litter on the ground, most likely cigarette butts thrown out the car window by smoking taxi drivers.
It was a simple act of consideration and civic-mindedness, and it drew praise from netizens who lauded her for her altruism.
It’s true: Not all heroes wear capes.
