A cat was found dead after being strangled to death by a snake.
Cat vigilante Julie Chong told Coconuts today that a feeder found the dead kitty Sunday in Jurong West. It was believed to be a beloved community cat that wanders the neighborhood.
“I am looking out for one community cat that got bitten by the snake. Please reach out to me if the cat (is) at the vet,” Chong wrote, adding that those who spot the snake should call animal welfare group ACRES.
Photos showed the snake curled around the cat’s body while another showed the cat’s lifeless body with an injury to its mouth.
When Chong posted the incident on cat groups in Facebook, several mourned the feline while others expressed their resentment toward snakes.
“I hate snakes after watching those poor cats had been bitten/eaten,” Wawa Wahia wrote.
One even said it would “chop” off the snake’s head if he saw it, to which others replied urging not to and to leave it to the animal authorities.
