The recent slew of political scandals involving two separate affairs amongst politicians that baffled Singaporeans this past week just got amped up by the power of the internet.
TikTok user Klassicalklown did not hold back on any creative impulses and birthed three masterpiece edits of the ongoing corruption probe and scandalous affairs between politicians in the theme of Taylor Swift hits.
If the news and think pieces of late are a little TL;DR for you, here’s one swift way to keep up with the drama.
“[R]e-invigorating political discourse, one music video at a time,” the user’s profile description read.

Swift’s I Can See You was dedicated to the affair of People’s Action Party’s Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin and Tampines GRC MP Cheng Li Hui. The former, who is married with two kids, had apparently been canoodling with Cheng since the 2020 General Elections.
They still continued to mess around even after being sat down and counselled by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong himself in February. Both have resigned from their positions this week.
Another affair that came to light this week is the one between Workers’ Party member Nicole Seah and Aljunied GRC MP Leon Perera. Their Love Story was flawlessly edited with Swift’s llicit Affairs. A mysterious video, which the public don’t know who uploaded and when it happened, surfaced showing Perera caressing Seah’s hand during an intimate dinner. Both are married with two children each.
In press conference held on July 18, the political party head Pritam Singh could not give a specific timeline on their romance but said the matter was brought up in 2021 in which Perera denied. Even though the affair had ended some time ago according to Singh, both politicians have also resigned from their positions.

The most apt clip belonged to the corruption probe involving transport minister S. Iswaran and Malaysian billionaire Ong Beng Seng over Swift’s Getaway Car. The minister and Ong, who was credited with bringing in the Formula One race to Singapore, were arrested and released on bail last week for an undisclosed investigation by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.
Ong recently came back from his Bali trip via his private jet and will continue to be probed by the Bureau.

There are countless details surrounding the events that has not been revealed or the public don’t know, but we do that Taylor Swfit’s songs are relatable and that the internet will never be sorry for its eyesore (but incredible) edits.
