Nature buffs, hike over to a new park at the Upper Thomson area, in the vicinity of the Singapore Island Country Club. Covering 75 hectares, Windsor Nature Park is connected to the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, and it includes walking pathways such as the Hanguana Trail — where you’ll spot rare native plants (some are even named after Singapore) — and the Drongo Trail, where hikers can stroll across a sub-canopy walk immersed in flora and fauna.

Freshwater streams and a marsh habitat are other highlights of the nature park, which officially opened on Saturday (Apr. 22). If you’re keen on finding out more about Singapore’s natural heritage and conservation efforts, you could also swing by the visitor pavilion to sign up for workshops.

The next upcoming park, Rifle Range Nature Park, will open by 2020 and cover the southern end of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Highlights for that park includes a sky garden with an elevated walkway, as well as various types of hiking trails.
