Ferry service to a Malaysian resort destination begins next month.

The Desaru Coast Destination Resort and ferry operator Desaru Link Ferry Services today announced that ferry services will commence July 7 from Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to the coastal resort.

“This is a game-changer for the destination. It will enable us to unlock new market opportunities in all travel segments and at the same time, positioning Desaru Coast as an attractive hospitality investment to draw like-minded investors for our next phase of growth,” Desaru Development Holdings CEO Roslina Arbak said in the announcement.

Desaru Link Ferry Services is a subsidiary of Batam Fast Ferry. The journey will take about 90 minutes in a 330-seater ferry that will be upgraded to a larger craft when demand increases.

Ferry tickets and service schedules will be available online June 30. They will also sell hotel packages that include golf, spa, waterpark access, and cycling.
