Singaporean murdered in Hawaii by husband

33-year-old Singaporean Tara Irdawati Isnin was shot dead by her husband Leo Chavez on Oct. 28 in their Hawaii home.

Tara, who relocated some two months ago from Singapore where her five-year-old daughter now lives, was pronounced dead by authorities in the wee hours of the morning at the Ala Wai Townhouse in Honolulu.

Her husband, who’d shot her before pointing the gun to himself in an attempt to commit suicide, was sent to Queen’s Medical Center for treatment.

He is rumoured to be part of the US army.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) says it is aware of the incident and will provide assistance to Tara’s family.
