Singaporean dude catches all possible Pokémon in Pokémon Go over 10 days

Filling up the Pokédex to its possible limits is a hard job (even Ash Ketchum never did get around to finishing what he was supposed to do), but Pokémon Go trainer Terence Ho did it in just 10 days.

The 39-year-old app developer may be accused of Spoofing (faking your GPS locations to catch ’em all), but he assured The New Paper that he ain’t no cheater. Showing the newspaper his collection of 145 Pokémon currently available in the game, his archive is missing the legendary ones like Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, as well as Mewtwo, Mew and the ever-elusive shapeshifter Ditto. That’s only due to the fact that Niantic hasn’t released them yet in the game.

This achievement means Ho is one of the few people in the world to have captured all the Pokémon available in the massively viral augmented reality game. Brooklynite Nick Johnson was the first to complete his Pokédex, while British graduate Ahmed Ali also managed the same feat earlier this month. We’re pretty sure many others have managed to do so as well, but Spoofing’s making it difficult to tell who are the legit ones.

As for Ho, the 10-day duration he took to catch ’em all may also be one of the shortest time periods in the world. He did spend $150 on in-app purchases to speed up progress and got his friends to catch some region-exclusive Pokémon (like Mr Mine in Europe and Kangaskhan in Australia) for him though, which some may consider cheating.

Nonetheless, his Pokédex was filled up without falsifying locations, modifying the software or hacking into backends. So it’s only appropriate that the last Pokémon that completed his 10-day hunt was a Victreebel. As in victory bell.
