A garbage truck almost hit a pedestrian after it lost control at a traffic light recently.
The Singapore Police Force said they were alerted to the accident along Ganges Avenue yesterday morning at 10:30am to a Sembcorp garbage truck that struck a traffic light and almost hit a woman crossing the road.
The 56-year-old driver is assisting the police with investigations.
Dashcam footage from a vehicle opposite the road showed a woman attempting to cross the road. Thankfully, she was alert and immediately ran back when she saw the truck approaching her way before it swerved and crashed into the traffic post. Debris was strewn all over the road.
The truck then tried to swerve back into lane before stopping.
