We have plenty of pet-friendly and even dog cafes in Singapore, but not cat cafes, which are popular in cities like Bangkok, Taiwan, Tokyo and Seoul.
That is about to change.
Cat lovers Sue and Sam, who’ve both amassed 15 years of kitty care experience between them, are planning to launch Singapore’s first cat cafe.
Called Cat Cafe Neko No Niwa (“cat garden” in Japanese), the space at 54A Boat Quay will house only adopted, not pedigree, cats to encourage the homing of kitties that are uncared for.
When contacted by Coconuts Singapore, Sue said that they want to open the cafe in November, but have much to do to make that happen.
“As with all businesses, we’ve experienced renovation delays and other unexpected happenings,” she revealed.
“The actual opening date also depends on when we can get the cats in and how ready they are for visitors.”
