Following the two executions this week, including one of a woman – the first in 20 years, the state has scheduled another execution for next Thursday.
Reform group Transformative Justice confirmed in a post on social media that a former delivery driver will be hanged next week.
The accused had maintained that he thought he was delivering contraband cigarettes and not the heroin that was actually inside the bag. He ran the errand as a way to offset his debt to his friend.
The post read, “He did not verify the contents of the bag because he trusted the friend.”
If the execution proceeds, it will be the fifth hanging in Singapore this year.
