School heads have stepped in after a pair of girls savagely beat a third in a car park, gut-wrenching footage of which spread online.
The students’ unnamed school has taken disciplinary action, education officials said yesterday, as well as sought counseling and informed the parents of the girls involved in the 30-second video shared on messaging platforms. In it, two girls in plainclothes tackle a girl in a blue uniform in broad daylight in a public car park.
It was not confirmed exactly where or when the incident took place, but it was reported to happen last week at Compassvale Walk.
“The school is aware of the incident and has taken educative actions, including counseling the students involved and engaging their parents. We take a serious view on acts of violence and appropriate disciplinary actions have been taken,” the ministry said. They declined to name the school though comments pointed out that CHIJ schools have similar blue, pinafore uniforms.
The police said a report has been filed and an investigation launched.
The video showed two girls punching, kicking and tugging the hair of a girl in uniform while laughing and riling each other to continue beating her. At one point, one of the two girls throws her to the ground and repeatedly kicks her back, head, and face.
“I also not happy with you,” one of the attackers says.
Another girl in the same uniform was seen standing and watching from a distance but not trying to help.
