In a result that surprised none of the regular beer drinkers here, Singapore has been proven yet again to be among one of the costliest countries to enjoy a cold pint.
Comparing 75 cities across the world, travel metasearch engine GoEuro’s latest Beer Price Index indicates that beer lovers will find their funds quickly depleting in the Swiss municipality of Geneva, where 330ml (the average size of a drink can or a standard glass bottle) of beer can go up to USD10.77 in bars or USD1.87 in supermarkets, marking their overall average price of beer at USD6.32.
Following close behind would be the city of Hong Kong, whose bartenders charge the most for a cold one at USD10.86, but are a lot cheaper in supermarkets at USD1.46. This would make Hong Kong the most expensive place to get your drink on in Asia, with second place going to none other than Singapore, whose average price goes at USD5.13 compared to Hong Kong’s USD5.79.

On the world stage however, Singapore ranks in sixth place as the costliest place to have a beer, well behind the cities of Tel Aviv, Oslo and New York.
If you do want to get hammered for cheap, the Beer Price Index suggests that you head down to Eastern Europe, whose average price of beer count among the lowest in the world at less than USD1.70 in the cities of Krakow, Kiev and Bratislava.

Those cities too far and frosty? Try out Bangkok, Bali, and Manila, where the average price of beer goes at USD2.11, USD2.18, USD2.28 respectively.
