Singapore ranks 8th in Creative Productivity Index

Out of 22 Asian economies, Singapore places 8th in the Creative Productivity Index, according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

The index was developed to analyse creativity and innovation, with the aim to give policymakers in Asian economies a unique tool to measure progress in cultivating creativity and innovation. The index measures the effective ratio between creative input and output, using indicators such as innovative capacity, environmental conduciveness, number of patents filed and more.

Singapore’s creative productivity grades lower than other economies such as Taipei, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Australia and Laos. Japan tops the list – scoring even better than creative productivity in Finland – with the Republic Of Korea just behind.
