Here’s to a couple more years of high-speed racing (and swanky-ass parties) — Singapore Grand Prix organizers have announced a four-year contract extension that’ll ensure existence of Formula One’s only night race till 2021.

“The agreement was concluded today after several rounds of negotiations,” said Trade and Industry Minister S. Iswaran to the media. Just earlier in June, he mentioned that they would not be rushed into an extension, citing the importance of considering the race’s terms and benefits.

It was widely believed that Singapore Grand Prix would end for good this year due to declining interest and attendance, as well as complaints of disrupted business due to extensive traffic restrictions in the city as a result of the event.

But it looks like all the worries were for naught as warm discussions between Formula One and Singapore Grand Prix organizers led to the confirmation of a four-year extension deal.

The race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit will enter its 10th edition this weekend, and it has been described as a truly “iconic race” by Formula One chief Chase Carey.
