Singapore gets two nights of lauded Whitney Houston tribute show

‘The Greatest Love of All’ — The Whitney Houston tribute show starring chart-topping South African singer Belinda Davids is coming to Singapore Apr 4 — 5.

We’re just coming right out with this — we’re not a firm believer of tribute shows, especially when they’re linked to someone as painfully lucid and influential as the late Whitney Houston, who drowned in a hotel bath in the year 2012.

But this two-and-a-half-hour, whose artistic direction is headed by world-famous Michael Jackson impersonator Kenny Wizz and starring Davids’ moving charm, promises to be heartwarming if not completely breath-taking.

The impressive track lineup is a given — Houston’s fans will get to sing along to her best loved hits including “Where do Broken Hearts Go?”, “I’m Every Woman”, “I Will Always Love You” and of course, “The Greatest Love of All”.

But reviewers have also warmed up to the show, lauding Davids for her impressive four-octave range and knowledge of Houston’s repertoire and nuances.

We’re going to see for ourselves, and so should you.

Tickets are on sale now for $55, $75, $95 and $115 via Marina Bay Sands and Sistic. Box and VIP seats are $300 — 460.
