The Singapore Changi Airport has once again been voted the World’s Best Airport by air travellers at the 2014 World Airport Awards held by Skytrax in Barcelona.

This is the second time in a row and the fifth in total, that Singapore’s key international airport has been awarded the accolade.

Said Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted, “Changi Airport (Singapore) is showing itself to be much more than an airport.”

He described it as “a travel experience in itself”, as well as “a well-known leader and innovator for the airport industry”.

Other airports in Asia that have made it to the top 10 are Incheon International Airport (second), Hong Kong International Airport (fourth), Tokyo International Airport Haneda (sixth) and Beijing Capital International Airport (seventh).

Hong Kong also won the The World’s Best Airport Dining award, while Tokyo Haneda picked up the award for The World’s Best Domestic Airport.
