Looks like Singapore Art Museum is trading up.
The arts institution, whose collection of contemporary and valuable Southeast Asian artworks is unparalleled, has named a new chief executive officer five months after former CEO Chong Siak Ching moved to National Gallery Singapore.
Remember his name: Leng Tshua.
If that doesn’t ring a bell, it must be because his previous works had seen him circulating among the one-percenter. He launched Asia-Pacific’s first-ever Steinway Gallery, in Singapore, back in 2011 and was head consultant of Steinway & Sons until recently.
A self-described strategist in brand building who specialises in the luxury industry, his consultations and projects are all aimed at increasing market shares in the high net worth communities — his words, not ours, on LinkedIN.
His arts background is equally solid. According to SAM, he has assumed roles as patron and board member for several non-profit, visual and performing art organisations, including Bellevue Arts Museum, Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and Greater Oro Valley Arts Council.
We predict more cocktail parties at SAM!
