Can’t fork out the cash for First Class seats but you don’t want to sit in Economy? The new Premium Economy Class offered by Singapore Airlines (SIA) should let you have a better experience flying without considerably thinning your wallets.
Following the announcement of the new service back in February, SIA unveiled the whole shebang yesterday, showing off their new Premium Economy Class seats for the first time in their media launch, as well as the in-flight offerings that customers will be able to enjoy come August.
As promised, each seat sports a bigger design of up to 19.5 inches in width and a deeper recline. In flight entertainment experience is enhanced with provided active noise-cancelling headphones and personal HD monitors. Other luxuries include calf-rests and foot-bars, as well as two powered USB ports, personal in-seat reading lights, and bigger personal stowage spaces.
Folks in the Premium Economy Class can also look forward to Book the Cook services, where travellers can pre-order from a wide array of specially curated dishes that will replace the main course from the inflight menu. If you’re meh about the standard offerings, dishes such as the Rosemary Beef Brisket, Spiced Chicken Briyani, Roasted Chicken in Garlic Crea Sauce and more are available through the service.
If that’s not enough, pair your meals with champagnes and curated wines, and even receive a exclusive amenity kits, consisting of a toothbrush, toothpaste and a pair of anti-slip socks.
Premium Economy class will enter commercial service this National Day to Sydney before being introduced to other destinations such as Beijing, Delhi, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, London, Mumbai, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo and Zurich. More details available on the SIA Premium Economy Class website.
