Starting from October 2013, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and SilkAir will increase the number of flights to and from India by nine to 107 times per week across 11 cities: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam.

India is an essential market for the Singapore Airlines Group and as such, the nine flight services added will demonstrate the commitment to business growth and tourism exchange between the two countries, according to G M Toh, general manager (India), Singapore Airlines.

With the aim of diversifying and being more prominent in the Asia-Pacific region, SIA has increased the frequency of their flights to India by 24% to 98 in the last three years. This is a significant increase as compared to 2010, when only 80 flights were available per week.
