SIA flight en route to Jakarta turned back to Singapore after oxygen masks deployed

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Flight SQ958 was already 45 minutes into its way to Jakarta yesterday when the plane’s oxygen masks got deployed.

According to an SIA spokesperson, the 113 passengers and 12 crew onboard were not in danger at any time — there was no depressurisation in the aircraft.

The plane landed back in Changi Airport at 2.40pm yesterday afternoon, where alternative flights were re-booked for affected passengers. SIA’s engineers and Airbus are currently looking into the cause of the malfunction.
